The academic program starts with an orientation and a bridge course to help students to match their learning levels with the expectations of the programs selected by them.

Program Overview

Computer Science is an exciting, growing, challenging field that has revolutionised the world over the years. It has changed the very face of society. It has found a wide range of applications in different spheres of life which includes medicine, communications, automotive technology, weather forecasting, entertainment, mining, pharmacology, forensics, manufacturing, disaster recovery, security, law, business etc. With an overwhelming increase in the widespread usage and popularity, computer education has become inevitable for the common man.

The department of Computer Science exists from the very beginning of the college (2008). Under the Department of Computer Science, The BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) Programme provides the essential skills for students to create a successful career in the information technology domain. The BCA Programme is spread across six semesters in three years and is a Programme affiliated with Bangalore University. GHRDC survey for BCA Colleges 2023 Ranking list, Our college was ranked 9th in top BCA colleges with super excellence category in India level, 4th best in the State and 5th best in colleges in South region Bengaluru.

Our students receive a broad education that includes a relevant contemporary industry-related curriculum, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams enhancing their spirit of innovation and academic excellence. Besides regular lectures students are enriched with knowledge beyond the curriculum through various experiential and participatory learning opportunities through value added, certificate courses, guest lectures, workshops, seminars, intra and inter Collegiate fest, Science Exhibition and industrial visits.

Eligibility

Any student who has passed PUC/10+2/Pre-University equivalent courses in Science, Arts or Commerce securing a minimum of 35% of marks is eligible.

Curriculum

The curriculum is interdisciplinary in nature, providing students with a strong basis to understand principles for diverse Technology, and allowing them to be creative and competitive researchers in Computer Science. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for advances in Information and technologies in the 21st century. The curriculum for BCA is focused on

(a) DSC: Disciple Specific core (Course)

(b) DSE: Disciple Elective

(c) OE: Open Elective

(d) AECC: Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses

(e) SEC: Skill Enhancement Courses

(f)  SEE: Semester End Examination, CIE: Continuous Internal Evaluation (which includes L+T+P: Lecture + Tutorial + Practicals).

*Note: Various value-added programs are offered throughout the course, tailored to meet the industry requirements each year.

DIGITAL WORLD CLUB ACTIVITIES

Department provides a platform for the students to learn about emerging technologies, enhance their Logical Skills and share their knowledge with the others in the form of following activities.

Activities Such as Artificial Intelligence, Pictionary Analysis, Internet of Things (IOT), IT QUIZ, Documentary Video making using given objects, Blind and Spot Hunting, Relay Clustering the IT Object and etc.,
